Permanent exhibition at the Andorra Perfume Museum
The Andorra Perfume Museum has an interesting permanent exhibition of fragrances, with thousands of references on display (39000 units). The first area that welcomes you is the Olfactory Station, which lets you experiment with creating different fragrances using two machines. After that challenge, the museum is laid out in five different rooms ,with audiovisual support material and hundreds of perfumes in display cases. Enjoy a review of the history and evolution of this cosmetic product, with a focus on the first steps in modern society, its conception as a luxury commodity, the process of mass production and the modern explosion in diversity and innovation. The exhibition focuses mainly on the 20th century, when perfume began its ascent to popularity.
A space with lots of events
In addition to its permanent collection, the Andorra Perfume Museum acts as a meeting point for all kinds of people interested in the world of fragrances. International meetings of collectors, presentations by prestigious cosmetics brands, and temporary and thematic exhibitions are just some of the events held there. The museum also connects buyers and sellers worldwide.
Visiting the museum and services available
The museum offers other services to visitors, including the museum store. There you’ll find both modern and antique exclusive pieces, which will delight both professional collectors and anyone with a cultured nose for scents in general. Some of the pieces for sale are over a century old. You’ll also find books related to perfume: hundreds of varied titles such as recipes to create perfumes, decades-old auction catalogues and case studies for more expert visitors.
You can enjoy visits both individually and in groups. You have the option to explore the museum without a guide, in which case you’ll have an audio guide with explanations on each part, or you can go on a guided group tour, available in four languages: Catalan, Spanish, French and English. The museum can cater for up to 60 people. The Andorra Perfume Museum is also a member of the Andorra PassMuseu card, offering a 50% discount on entrance. This museum also offers educational workshops for school groups and activities for kids! The establishment is accessible for people with reduced mobility.
