Church of Sant Romà d’Erts

Location and contact

To find out more

It’s a small building from the 19th century alongside the road, very close to where the original 11th century church was located, which is now in ruins. With a square floor and seated bell tower with two openings over the entrance and porch, the Church of Sant Romà d’Erts contains an 18th-century baroque altarpiece from the former church, on two levels and predella, with paintings in evoking the martyrdom of Sant Romà and, above this, a niche with the image of the Immaculate Conception flanked on both sides by the scene of the Annunciation.

As we said before, a short distance from this temple at the beginning of the path climbing up behind the village are the remains of the former Romanesque church: the northern wall and the beginning of the apse.
