ORQUESTRA NACIONAL CLÀSSICA D'ANDORRA
Albert Gumí, Artistic Director
The Orquestra Nacional Clàssica d'Andorra (ONCA) debuted in 1993 as a string orchestra under the direction of the Andorran violinist Gerard Claret, who served as its concertmaster until 2020. It is managed by the ONCA Foundation, an entity formed by the Government of Andorra and the Creand Foundation, which are the trustees. Since 2021, its artistic direction has been in the hands of the musician, composer and orchestra conductor Albert Gumí. In 2023 it celebrated its 30th anniversary.
The ONCA is a versatile orchestra that adapts its formation to the artistic programme, combining chamber and symphonic arrangements.
The ONCA has signed agreements abroad, such as the one with the Teatre Auditori Sant Cugat and the Escola Municipal de Música Victòria dels Àngels de Sant Cugat del Vallès and the one with the Fundació Orfeó Català - Palau de la Música Catalana.
