Canillo and Arès will be celebrating their twinning again this year with an evening dedicated to gastronomy and music during the third weekend in October.
Canillo is twinned with Arès, a town located on the Arcachon Bay (Gironde department, Aquitaine region). For this reason, every year Canillo hosts the Oyster Festival with a communal dinner that gives attendees the chance to try specialities from both the sea and the mountains. Oysters and mussels from the Arcachon Bay, produced in Arès, are paired with typical Andorran dishes such as pa amb tomàquet (bread rubbed with tomato) and cured meats.
There will be entertainment throughout the evening with musical and traditional folk performances by groups and artists from both towns.
Place and date: Car park, Urbanització Els Refugis, Saturday 19th October at 8:30 pm
Capacity limited to 400 attendees. Tickets on sale at the Canillo Tourist Office.
