Espai Caldes pays homage to the pioneers of hospitality and tourism with an exhibition running until early January 2022.
Through different items such as images and photo reproductions, objects and advertising materials, the exhibition shows the birth of the industry that gradually transformed Andorra from the beginning to the middle of the 20th century from an agriculture and livestock farming-based society to a service-driven economy – an international tourism destination. This transformation was first brought on by the thermal spring waters of Escaldes – where a large number of businesses opened – turning it into a centre of thermal spring health tourism.
Hospitality Pioneers gives recognition to the efforts of the entrepreneurs – mostly family businesses – that put Andorra on the map of the 20th century.
Location: Espai Caldes. Av. Carlemany, 8, Escaldes-Engordany, until 8 January 2022. Free admission.
