2017 Ull-Nu Festival

14 from February - 18 from February

From 14 to 18 February, the Ull-Nu festival celebrates its fifth year with 30 short films from different parts of the Pyrenees in competition.

The fifth Ull-Nu festival, the audiovisual festival for young artists in the Pyrenees, presents a programme full of activities, outstanding among which are the screening of “La próxima piel” (“The next skin”), directed by Isaki Lacuesta and Isa Campo, starring Àlex Monner and Emma Suárez, and recent winner of three Gaudí awards from the Catalan Film Academy: best film, best screenplay and best female actor (Wednesday 15 February at the Teatro Comunal in Andorra la Vella).

Ull-Nu also proposes a challenge for the general public: to see “Jaws” from the water. The classic film directed by Steven Spielberg will be shown in an “aqua cinema” session in Caldea (Tuesday 14 February).

For the real film enthusiasts, Ull-Nu has organised a talk with David Martí and Montse Ribé, from the company DDT Efectos Especiales, winners of the Oscar for “Pan’s Labyrinth” and who also created the special effects for “Hellboy” and “A Monster Calls”.

The competition section of the audiovisual festival for young artists in the Pyrenees involves around thirty short films from as many directors, all under 35 years of age and coming from regions as diverse as Catalonia, Aquitaine, the Basque Country and Languedoc.

The screenings, workshops and other Ull-Nu activities will take place at the Andorra la Vella Congress Centre and other venues between 14 and 18 February 2017. Admission is free except for the cinema club, and “aqua cinema” session in Caldea.
