Discover the Hydroelectric Way, unique nights, family games, children’s workshops and many more initiatives.

To familiarize the public at large with the hydroelectric facilities that have played a key role in Andorra’s development, Feda Cultura is offering a summer programme full of attractive activities in which cultural and scientific knowledge are combined playfully and educationally to encourage the values of energy saving and sustainability.

Enjoy another year of visits to the Engolasters Hydroelectric Way and the unique activities on the Summer Nights programme (Department of Culture). Workshops focused on climate change, tailored for small children and held at the Casa dels Guardes. The whole family can travel in time by playing a very special game of clues.

At the Engolasters lake there is also a self-guided circuit for those wanting to find out for themselves every detail about water and the electrical energy it helps to generate.

FEDA Cultura 2022 summer programme

  • Hydroelectric Way. July and August, from Tuesday to Sunday, at 10 am, 12 midday, 3 pm and 5 pm. More extensive information at Hydroelectric Way.
  • Summer nights. This year there will be eight special, unique evenings with some new features, as well as the astronomy nights and the now classic night sky observation. Further information and booking at Summer Nights.
  • Climate change. Workshop at which 3- to 7-year-olds learn about how climate change affects the planet, find solutions and take part in fun experiments. Four sessions in July and August at FEDA’s Casa dels Guardes, Engolasters. 14 July and 11 August with staggered exits from 4 pm to 5 pm.
  • “Follow the dynamite”. A game of clues for the family takes participants on a journey to the nineteen-forties, when the workers of FHASA went deep into the Madriu Valley to build the Illa and Ràmio dams and the Madriu canal, which was to carry water to Engolasters lake. A worker from the time by the name of “El Gallego” will need your help to find the precious, dangerous dynamite he has lost...
  • “Water and electrical energy”. A new self-guided circuit of around 1.5 km with eleven illustrated explanatory panels featuring diagrams and photographs and information on hydroelectricity infrastructures, the history of FHASA and FEDA and other curious features such as the legend of Engolasters. The route goes around Engolasters lake and is not at all difficult. The QR codes on the panels offer visitors free access to further information and details of all FEDA Cultura activities.
  • MW Museum of Electricity. Located inside FEDA’s active hydroelectric power plant, you will be able to discover everything that surrounds the energy and importance of this equipment in the modern history of Andorra. You can also visit the temporary exhibition "A planet submerged by plastic", a shocking photo report by James Whitlow Delano. The museum also has a playful and interactive space to discover the basics of electricity through play.
