The fire festival of the nights of Sant Joan and Sant Pere is back with a bang and with new local fallaire groups, throughout the country.

The summer solstice festival on the year’s shortest night is a magical night of fire. This year, with the addition of Canillo and La Massana, every parish will mark this traditional evening with the burning of falles, of bonfires and of the Mai (in Ordino), with routes through streets and squares.

Burning of falles, Canillo
Thursday 23 June
6 pm Ascent of the Canigó flame from Casa de la Vall by the young people of Canillo.
9 pm Exhibition of the Punt Jove fallaires. Els Refugis car park.
10 pm Lighting of the bonfire by the authorities. Els Refugis car park.
10.15 pm Verbena concert with the group Iaraké & Ginger. Els Refugis car park.

Thursday 23 June
10.30 pm Burning of falles in streets of the town centre.

Falles, Ordino, and burning of the Mai de Sant Pere
Thursday 28 June
12 noon Raising of the Mai de Sant Pere. Prat de Vilella car park
10.30 pm. ‘Fallaires d’Ordino’ dance by the Esbart Valls del Nord folk dance group. Plaça Major.
10.35 pm Young fallaires set out with the Gralla pipers and drummers of the Castellers d’Andorra. Plaça Major, route to the Prat de Vilella car park.
10.45 pm The Fallaires d’Ordino set out with bagpipes of Albert Adellach and timbales of Nerea Rius and Hèctor del Val. Plaça Major and route through the streets of Ordino.
11 pm ‘Sota la lluna de Sorteny’ witches’ dance by the Esbart Valls del Nord folk dance group. Prat de Vilella car park.
11.05 pm Traditional falla, lighting of the Mai and final burning of falles. Prat de Vilella car park.

Burning of falles, La Massana
Thursday 23 June
10.30 pm Start of the burning of falles. Departure from Cementiri Vell, with the Gralla pipers and drummers of the Castellers d’Andorra.
11 pm Witches’ dance by the Esbart Valls del Nord folk dance group. Car park behind the schools.
11.05 pm Final burning of falles and lighting of the bonfire. Car park behind the schools.

Burning of falles, Andorra la Vella
Thursday 23 June
10.30 pm Baptism of fire. Placeta del Puial.
10.45 pm Young fallaires set out. Placeta del Puial, route around the streets of Andorra la Vella’s old quarter to Plaça Guillemó.
11 pm Fallaires from Andorra la Vella set out. Placeta del Puial, route around the streets of Andorra la Vella’s old quarter to Plaça Guillemó.
11.30 pm Final burning of falles and lighting of the bonfire. Plaça Guillermó.
11.45 pm Witches’ dance. By Andorra’s folk-dance  group Esbart Dansaire. Plaça Guillermó.

10.30 pm Burning of falles in streets of the town centre.

Burning of falles, Escaldes-Engordany
Wednesday 22 June
7.30 pm Baptism of fire at Plaça Coprínceps for new fallaires and children. Burning of the traditional falla.
Thursday 23 June, 11.30 pm Burning of falles along two routes:
Route 1: Plaça Sta. Anna - Av. Carlemany - C. François Mitterand - Nacions Unides car park (bonfire)
Route 2: C. de la Unió - Av. Carlemany - C. François Mitterand - Nacions Unides car park (bonfire)
12 o’clock midnight Arrival at the car park, reading of the manifesto by the Pubillatge d’Escaldes-Engordany 2022-2023 children’s folklore association.
Fallaires dance and lighting of the bonfire.
