The summer festival programme offers a series of performances and activities in a wade variety of styles.

Music features heavily in the Escaldes-Engordany’s summer cultural and leisure activities.  Colours of Music offers a diverse programme of performances, options and flavours open to all audiences. Here are some samples from the programme:

Tourists and bathers
Saturday 6 August at 9.45 pm, 10.00 pm and 10.15 pm and Sunday 7 August at 11 am, 11.15 am and 11.30 am. The Animal Theatre School. Ticket price: €3. Limited places per session. Starting point in the Plaça de l’Esbart Santa Anna. Tickets sales and bookings at the Escaldes-Engordany Tourist Office, tel: (+376) 890 881;  

Picnic time
Cece Gianotti: L’apunttamento. Thursday 11 August at 9.30 pm.
A musical journey with the Italian songster featuring modern arrangements of blues, jazz, folk and pop that explore new melodic approaches to these marvellous classics.
Klaima Quartet: The soul of Klezmer. Thursday 25 August at 9.30 pm.
A journey through the most popular Klezmer-influenced central European music, with references also to Sephardic and Hebrew music in general. A fresh, frantic and thrilling concert.

Dance Monday at Parc de la Mola
1 August: EO, show by the company Líquid Dansa in which Mònica Vega and Xavi Pérez explore different languages in search of communication.
8 August: Traç en clau de cello, a dialogue of music and motion, a blank canvas pervaded with sensitivity and movement, stimulated by melody from an electric cello and looper, with Emma Regada and Jordi Claret.
15 August: Bram, performance by Rosa Mª Herrador in collaboration with the dancer Emma Riba. A tribute to the women and culture of the high mountains.
22 August: Isadora. Beauty, truth, strength. Isadora Duncan was the forerunner to modern dance. The dancers Mònica Bou, Clara Santamaria and Marta Brucart stage their original choreographies.
7.00 pm at Parc de la Mola. Free admission.

Art Tuesday
2 August from 7.00 pm at the CAEE (Centre d’Art d’Escaldes-Engordany). FASHION in capitals. Evening devoted to the fashion of the 1950s with sketches, fashion capsule collections and cocktails alongside Laura Luceño, fashion teacher and researcher, Esther García, art director and fashion show producer and Joan Font Denjean, fashion designer.
9 August at 8.00 pm at the CAEE (Centre d’Art d’Escaldes-Engordany). The water route. Guided tour on the uses of hot water, from the most traditional to the most up-to-date.
16 August at 8.00 pm and 10.00 pm at the CAEE (Centre d’Art d’Escaldes-Engordany). Guided night-time visit to the exhibition Fashion of the 50s. Imagining the future, Quinto-Tinarelli collection.
23 August at 8.00 pm at the Espai Caldes. Concert and guided visit to the exhibition A poetry of vertigo. Visit to the exhibition of musical scores in which music and graphics come together with the keyboards of Albert Bartomeu to recreate the innovative and creative spirit of 20th-century art and music.

Engordany duets
3 August: La Sonsoni. Traditional music: repertoire that includes dances, songs and music compiled from the Pyrenean accordionists and singers of yesteryear. Elias Porter (violin and viola) and Pep Lizandre (accordion, voice and dances).
10 August: XY. Desglaç:  An all-embracing voice and cello duet that will draw you into their intense emotional landscape. Marçal Ayats (cello) and Laura Cruells (voice).
17 August: Mescla-Dos. Intimate journey: A journey full of common places in which Sting becomes Joao Gilberto and Edith Piaf dances swing. With Loreto Muñoz Osorio (voice, cello and percussion) and Felipe Contreras (double bass, guitar, percussion and voice).
24 August: Les Isabeles. Diëresi. A diaresis is a sign placed over a vowel to indicate it is voiced, which here becomes a reflection on expression through choral music. With Isabel Vinardell (voice and dance) and Isabelle Laudenbach (guitar).

Wednesdays in August at 7.00 pm in Plaça d’Engordany. In collaboration with the ONCA Foundation.
