The Christmas celebrations at Escaldes-Engordany offer a range of activities for everyone.

Turning on the Christmas lights

Starting at 5:30 p.m., robots of light will show off their rhythm with a range of choreographies for the people of Vivand. You can follow them to Plaça dels Coprínceps where at 6 p.m. we will celebrate the switching on of the Christmas lights.

Children's entertainment, dance, goblins, balloons, confetti and chocolate with churros for everyone! Friday 29 November, 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Av. Carlemany and Plaça Coprínceps.

More than 40 years lighting up Christmas

A historical exhibition of the Escaldes-Engordany Christmas lights, from the ‘60s until today, to celebrate the parish’s 40th birthday. With photos, documents and interviews to take a look back at the Christmas lights from the ‘60s, ‘70s, ‘80s, ‘90s, 2000s and the present day. The street lights on Avinguda del Fener will display ‘80s Christmas designs reworked for the occasion. From 29 November 2019 until 7 January 2019 on Avinguda del Fener, Escaldes-Engordany.

Gospel night

The Parish Council’s gospel concert has become a popular yuletide favourite. This year’s edition will feature the “The Campbell Brothers” group, as part of the 20th “Greats of Gospel” Festival. Saturday, 7 December at 9:30 p.m. in the church of Sant Pere Màrtir. Ticket price: € 10. Tickets available at Escaldes-Engordany Tourist Office.

Living Nativity Scene

Escaldes-Engordany has restored its tradition of putting on a Living Nativity Scene. This year marks the sixth edition of the event, and features more than 120 actors continuing with the fine tradition first established by Esteve Albert over 50 years ago. The performances will take place in the upper area of the parish, with two shows on both 14 December. Tickets available at Escaldes-Engordany Tourist Office. 

Father Christmas is coming to town

Father Christmas will parade through the streets of Escaldes-Engordany on Christmas Eve from 5 p.m. His final destination is Plaça Coprínceps, where he will collect all of the children’s letters.

Midnight mass

Midnight mass will take place on Christmas Eve in Sant Pere Màrtir Church at midnight. In keeping with tradition, attendees will be offered mulled wine and cake as they leave the church.
