Stroll through Canillo and enjoy the life-size nativity scenes scattered around the town.

Every year, at this time of the year, the birth of Jesus is staged in Canillo with a spectacular nativity scene comprised of more than two hundred life-sized figures distributed among approximately thirty scenes.

Passeig Carlemany and Canillo’s old quarter, including Plaça de Sant Cerni at the top beside the church and the flour mill on Carrer Major are just some of the most iconic spots in the display. The nativity scene is located in the Church of Santa Creu, beside the old route from Prats.

The display, which has several new features this year, includes the figures of Their Majesties, the Three Kings of the Orient, the shepherds tending the flocks and the farmers surrounded by tools, as well as the draft and farm animals. Like any nativity scene worth its salt, you can also find the figure of a discreetly camouflaged caganer.
