16 from January - 06 from April

The Casa de la Vall and the Consell General building foyer are the stages for Alternatura, the new exhibition from Joan Xandri.

Joan Xandri joins in the celebration of the Consell de la Terra’s 600th anniversary with Alternatura, an exhibition featuring a series of large works with the earth as the common theme. The artists uses three-dimensional compositions with colourful protruding structures and organic textures and very stark contrasts to create his own nature, an ‘Alternatura’.

The Consell de la Terra was the predecessor of Andorra’s present-day parliament, the Consell General, and is one of the oldest parliaments in Europe. It was established in 1419 with the approval of the co-princes as a result of the meetings that used to be held by citizens in the arcades of the churches to discuss the problems of the population. The creation of the Consell de la Terra gave Andorrans the right to elect their representatives.
