Ski Academy

Grandvalira has 7 Snow Gardens for children aged between 3 and 6 years old, spread across the Encamp, Canillo, El Tarter, Soldeu, Grau Roig and Pas de la Casa sectors. They’re designed to help children take their first steps in the world of skiing and fun in the snow. Each centre has all kinds of inflatable objects, mats, and a massive range of modules to help make sure they have a great time. Everything needed to learn in a safe, comfortable setting!

Each snow garden also has a ski and snowboard school, where qualified monitors offer private or group classes, depending on your child’s level, to help them perfect their style and ensure they progress as skiers.

Likewise, children under the age of 4 will take part in a snow familiarisation session, with games and activities to get them used to the snow.

  • Kids Program

On the other hand, if you’d like to go one step further, Grandvalira offers the Kids Program for children ages 3 to 11, available in the snow gardens in Canillo, El Tarter, Soldeu, Encamp, Pas de la casa and Grau-Roig. With this programme, kids will be supervised and entertained all day long: in the morning they’ll get beginners ski or snowboard lessons, and in the afternoon they’ll go out to do activities in the snow! They’ll enjoy snowshoe excursions, snow tubing, Snake Gliss and much more! The programme also includes lunch for the children, and the lessons are separated into two groups according to each child’s level: one group for children ages 3 to 5 and the other for ages 6 to 11.

  • Intro to snowboarding with method Burton Riglet

In addition to the Kids Program, for the little ones, Grandvalira also offers the snowboard initiation method Burton Riglet, a more enjoyable teaching system, which introduces children to this world in a didactic and innovative way that is also great fun! The lessons also take place in the snow gardens in Canillo, El Tarter and Soldeu and last all day. These lessons are divided into two groups according to the children’s levels and ages: from 3 to 5 years old and from 6 to 12 years old. The activity also includes lunch. This programme is also included in the Kids Program.

Nursery

Children between the ages of 1 and 4 can also enjoy the snow in Andorra at the 4 nurseries open in Grandvalira. Qualified carers will ensure the young ones play and have a fun time whilst you do too. All the facilities are located in heated, comfortable premises that are fully adapted to their needs.

Those in Canillo, El Tarter and Soldeu are especially suitable for children over the age of 2 whilst the nursery in Grau-Roig is aimed at children between the age of 12 to 24 months.

Activities in the snow

Apart from the schools, Grandvalira also has themed children’s areas and special circuits, located in different sectors and parks:

  • Children's circuits (for children from the age of 3)

 - Mon(t) Màgic at Canillo:

The first one can be found in the Mon(t) Magic adventure park, in Canillo. This park is a new family area where children can enjoy not only skiing, but also activities such as sliding down the longest themed slope in southern Europe, or going down one of the longest zip lines in the Pyrenees, with 550 metres long and 40 metres high, among many others.

 - Bababoom Circus at El Tarter:

In the El Tarter sector, you’ll find the "Bababoom Circus", a 500-metres circuit that is decorated with fun, playful elements, taken from the world of circus, to make sure your little ones have as much fun as possible. This circuit is designed for children under the age of 12.

 - Yokai Circuit at Soldeu:

At Soldeu, little ones will enjoy the new "Yokai Circuit", a 646-metre circuit full of fun, where they will have adventures alongside Yokai, a character inspired by the wood grouse that lives in the forests of Soldeu! This circuit is designed for children of all ages. But that’s not all because on the Soldeu platform there is also a Space Gliss zone where the little ones can slide or, if they prefer, tube down a mini Snake Gliss!

 - Kid Forest circuits at Encamp, Pas de la Casa and Grau Roig:

Finally, you’ll find the last 3 children’s areas located at different sectors of the resort (Encamp, Pas de la Casa and Grau-Roig), in the Encamp parish, under the name "Kid Forest circuits".

In the Encamp sector, you’ll find this circuit under the name "Snow Forest“ and is located in the Cortals area. This activity lets children enjoy a 10-metre long tunnel surrounded by characters from the forest!

Next to the Pas de la Casa sector, children can enjoy a second circuit under the name "Forest Pas“, where they can go on an exploring adventure amidst trees in a magical forest. There, they will also enjoy a fun super tunnel around 50 metres long that crosses the forest – a world of fun for the youngest ones!

Finally, your children will also enjoy the "Kid Forest" children’s area, located in the Grau-Roig sector. Bring them to this activity park and they’ll discover a world full of fantasy and fun, with various obstacle courses to be completed, including the "kid Forest Circuit", as well as enjoying activities that will get their adrenaline pumping, such as driving snowmobiles, snow tubbing, going down zip lines and doing jumps and tricks on the different ski slopes.

As these circuits are all themed, your young ones will be accompanied at all times by the "Kid Forest" characters, who will al make sure your children have a truly unforgettable experience.

Likewise, each level is represented by a different animated character: the 4-year-old marmot Mona accompanies the beginner-level children, while 6-year-old wood grouse Bo is for children who are starting to manage on their own; the 9-year-old red fox Vulpi represents the intermediate level and, finally, Nae, an 11-year-old Pyrenean chamois represents children who are already expert snowboarders!

  • Special circuits (for children and adults)

 - Fun Cross circuits:

But that’s not all! Kids wanting a new and even more thrilling experience can give the resort’s 5 Fun Cross circuits a go, featuring plenty of curves, jumps, turns and tunnels, giving them the perfect opportunity to put their agility to the test! The routes are separated by level. So, you can find the Guineu Fun Cross run in El Tartar suitable for children with a more advanced level. At the Espiolets plateau in the Soldeu sector you can find the Ós Fun Cross Ride, Astor Fun Cross Ride, Óliba Fun Cross and the Marmota Junior Fun Cross circuit for the smaller ones.

 - Easy Way, Fun Way and Skimo Way circuits:

Have fun while discovering the slopes with these family-friendly circuits. Adapted to different difficulty levels, there are three different routes to choose from. First is Easy Way, with the lowest level, which lasts four hours and takes you to six blue slopes. Next is Fun Way, a route with a slightly higher level that lasts between three and five hours, during which time you’ll tackle 11 slopes, all of which are red. Finally, for skimo enthusiasts, we have the Skimo Way, a route suitable for all levels that joins Pas de la Casa with Encamp, while showing you all the most iconic parts of the resort.
