Uptown Escaldes-Engordany is an additional section of The Shopping Mile, Andorra’s new shopping district. This area begins at the top of Avinguda Carlemany and is home to a host of local businesses, which carry on the traditional spirit that has characterised the history of Andorran commerce. You will also find a handful of shops that specialise in model building, mainly concentrated around Av. de les Escoles and Carrer del Picó.

The range of shops on offer in the area is complemented by a series of unique cultural facilities, such as the Carmen Thyssen Museum Andorra, an international reference point in the field of painting, which exhibits masterpieces from the Carmen Thyssen collection. The museum puts on a high-quality programme of activities linked to the themes of its temporary exhibitions.

A bit further up, you'll find the new Espai Caldes, located above the Roc del Metge thermal spring, where the water gushes out at 70 °C. Along the river you can enjoy the Caldes project, an installation that reaffirms and extols the value of thermal water for the parish. Heading back to Av. Carlemany, you will come across the Escaldes-Engordany Art Centre (CAEE), which is home to a permanent collection of Josep Viladomat sculptures and of Romanesque art models, as well as a temporary exhibition room.

At the parish tourist office, located on Pl. Santa Anna, you will find all the information you need to make the most of your stay. What’s more, the area offers various car parks.
