Avinguda Meritxell the capital's commercial area and central sector of The Shopping Mile, is part of the nerve center of the economic life of the Principality.
From the old quarter to Carrer Unió and passing by the Rotonda, Avinguda Meritxell houses a great many shops that offer an enormous range of goods.
Strolling along Avinguda Meritxell you'll come across the most prestigious brands from all sectors.
On both sides of the street you'll find the latest trends in fashion, the latest and most emblematic designs in jewellery and watches, as well as cutting-edge cosmetics and perfumes ranging from the classics to the most contemporary.
Avinguda Meritxell also displays all the innovations in consumer electronics with the most coveted brands, models and accessories
Sports fans will find everything they need for their summer and winter activities in the many stores.
From the upper part, next to the Historic Centre, to the lower part, you will find several department stores and shopping malls that are the principality's shopping reference points.
The lower part of the avenue, between Rotonda and Carrer de la Unió, is a pedestrian area.
In Plaça de la Rotonda you can see a reproduction of the sculpture "La noblesse du temps" by Salvador Dalí and, just behind it, the modern Paris Bridge. In this area of the Valira river you will find the Rotonda Fountains, which offer a spectacle of light, water and music. The square also houses the Andorra la Vella Tourist Office.
There are many restaurants along Avinguda Meritxell. On the upper part, because of the avenue's proximity with the historic centre, and then along the entire avenue you have a wide and varied range of food and beverages at your disposal.
