Lo Mandongo

The 11th edition of “Lo Mandongo” invites you to La Massana to sample menus and recipes with pork as tyhe star of the show.

La Massana kicks off a food-filled year in the Principality with the winter culinary event Lo Mandongo.  The word defines the group of meats and additives used to prepare pork products on the day of the slaughter, held around this time of year, and which make up one of the main ingredients in our winter-time dishes. 

Restaurants in the parish taking part in the initiative will be offering a variety of set menus with original dishes focusing on pork. At Lo Mandongo you will also find dishes using other local produce, ranging from traditional recipes to more modern and creative offerings, with influences from other cultures.

Another product you will want to make sure you try as part of the Winter Cuisine Event are calçot spring onions, which are also traditionally eaten this time of year.
