The French pianist Richard Clayderman, known worldwide for his interpretation of “Ballade Pour Adeline”, will be performing in the Sala Prat del Roure at Escaldes-Engordany on 27 October at 10.00 p.m.
The concert forms part of Clayderman’s “Tour Romantique”, which has been gracing stages around the world throughout 2017. It includes renditions of famous songs from film soundtracks, classical compositions, and the biggest hits from the pianist’s career. Clayderman will be accompanied by the string section of Andorra’s National Chamber Orchestra (ONCA).
Richard Clayderman’s long professional career began in the late 1970s with the release of his first record, which included a rendition of “Ballade Pour Adeline” - the song that would bring him international fame. The record achieved worldwide success, with more than 22 million copies sold in 38 different countries. Since then, the career of this easy-listening pianist has continued to hit the heights. Clayderman has made over 1,600 musical recordings and has sold around 90 million records, garnering 276 gold and 70 platinum discs - as well as a range of other accolades - in the process. He has performed more than 600 concerts during a series of international tours that have taken him all over the world. Clayderman is particularly popular in the Far East, where he has performed in front of mass audiences in Beijing and Shanghai. Many of his concerts have been broadcast live on TV.
