The Andorra la Vella and Escaldes-Engordany Carnival celebration has become one of the most popular events in Andorra’s calendar of events. The main reason for this success is the dance troupe and choreography contest that culminates in a grand parade that passes through the streets and squares of both towns. This year, the parade will start in Parc de la Mola in Escaldes-Engordany and will finish in Plaça Princep Benlloch in front of the Andorra la Vella parish hall. The end of the festival, featuring a choreography contest in the conference centre and a community botifarrada (traditional sausage barbecue) in Plaça del Poble, will be on Saturday, 10 February.
The week concludes with workshops and activities for kids and more traditional events like the Trial of the Carnival King at dusk on the evening of Shrove Tuesday in Plaça Guillemó in Andorra la Vella, which, just as every year, will signal the end of the craziest festival on Andorra’s calendar of events.
