Andorra la Vella is the most central parish as it is located in the heart of the country, and is the capital and nerve centre of Andorra.
The shopping streets of Andorra la Vella next to Vivand in Escaldes-Engordany, are part of a large outdoor shopping centre where you will find the best global brands and products at low prices. Its historic old town will show you the history of our country through both its rural architecture and 21st century buildings. In this fusion of tradition and modernity is the Casa de la Vall, the headquarters of the old Consell General and the Church of Sant Esteve.
The capital city regularly hosts important congresses and musical and cultural events. In summer, its streets are filled with music, theatre and traditional festivities, and in winter, the Congress Centre of Andorra la Vella brings you the best in current events. You can enjoy nature and spectacular views without ever leaving the city, by following the Green Ring route, a natural path along the slopes which surround the valley.
This parish also contains the towns La Margineda and Santa Coloma, located in the direction of Sant Julià de Lòria. The latter is home to the indoor freestyle complex 360º Extrem, and a church that is one of the most representative of the Andorran Romanesque style: the Church of Santa Coloma.
We recommend you visit the historic old town of Andorra la Vella, the Romanesque bridge in La Margineda and the Valley of Madriu-Perafita-Claror, declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco in 2004.
