The descent of the northern gulleys of the Pic de l'Hortell is a PD route located in Vallnord-Ordino Arcalís ski resort.
Start point: From the Vallnord-Ordino Arcalís ski resort car park, we will take the Abarsetar chairlift and when we get off, we will climb towards the Hortell Peak (2,562 m). To get to the gulleys, from the peak we will continue NE along the Hortell range and after 50 m we will find the entrance to the first three gulleys. 30 m further on and passing a small rocky formation, we will find the other 3 gulleys; in this sector is the Canal de la Bruixa with a gradient of 45°, narrow but not very exposed and a few metres further on there is the Canal del Waka, also 45° and maybe a little steeper, fairly exposed due to the large amount of rocks we find on either side.
Descent: The 6 gulleys we find in this sector are very short, ranging from 80 m to 100 m, but they are attractive due to their accessibility, their gradients and their small difficulty. They all end at the same point where we leave the Abarsetar chairlift, and then we can continue to the base along some off-piste tracks we find on either side of La Font and Les Canals.
Parking area: (42°37'55.28"N and 1°29'59.89"E).
