The hiking route is a pretty but difficult route with spectacular views and a climb of more than 1,000 metres.
The start of the route is on the Camí de les Pardines at 1,635m alt. leaving Encamp, at a turning with a sign indicating Refugi dels Agols. From this point, the path goes straight up through the Quer forest and parallel to the river Montuell until it gets to the Agols mountain hut on a plain full of colours in the springtime. We will continue along a path with few markings which goes off to the left above the hut towards the Cap del Agols: A solitary pine in the middle of the path will confirm that we are on the right route. A little further up, we will have a spectacular view of the Tosa del Braibal.
We will cross some marshes and see a cairn that confirms our route, and carry on gently up to 2,450m. From this point, the land rises through screes to the Cap dels Agols (alt. 2,665), a large esplanade with pretty panoramic views and to the south we look down on the Estany Blau.
The route starts on the Camí de les Pardines, a little before Km3 on the CS 220 towards Engolasters Lake in the parish of Encamp (42° 31' 48",01° 35' 54").
For your safety, we recommend you do the routes at altitudes of over 1700 metres between the end of June and the end of September.
