The Camí de del Jou - Roc de la Cauba takes us to the Roc de la Cauba, a magnificent balcony over the La Massana valley and its villages.
The starting point is at the Camí del Jou, 300m before the village of Erts, in the parish of La Massana. The path zigzags through the forest until it comes to a viewpoint over the Prat Primer Valley, where it levels out and goes into Jou Forest, characterised by the large number of Scots pines and wild fruit undergrowth. When we come to a point where the paths cross, we have to take the path on the right as the one on the left would take us to the Les Cases mountain pass. At the following crossing point we take the path to the right towards Roc de Cauba, a chalk pit, where our excursion will end. We go back the same way.
The route starts at Camí del Jou, 300 metres before the village of Erts, in the parish of La Massana (42° 33' 42",1° 30' 1").
For your safety, we recommend you do the routes at altitudes of over 1700 metres between the end of June and the end of September.
You will find further details of this and other routes in the Hiking guide Trails of Andorra.
