The La Comella viewpoint is at an altitude of 1,319 metres on the CS-101, at Km 2-3 in the parish of Andorra la Vella.
You can see the oak groves from this viewpoint, which grow in cold and damp sub Mediterranean regions. The main tree is the downy oak, whose acorn is much used in making kitchen utensils.
You can also see the animals of the oak forests, such as squirrels jumping from branch to branch, the great spotted woodpecker and its tapping on the trees, and finally, though more difficult to see, you might catch a glimpse of the beech marten climbing the trees after its prey.
You will find more information about this and other guided walking routes in the Andorra Mountain Guide.
