Skimo, Andorra’s cross-country skiing race will include two stages for this year’s edition, Skimo 6 and Skimo 10. With this addition the race that was launched in 2016 is coming closer to its main objective of covering the length of Andorra’s cross-country skiing routes.
Skimo6 will maintain the same route as in previous editions, departing from Naturlandia and arriving at Grau Roig, including six high-mountain shelters. This route passes through emblematic points of the Andorran geography, such as Estany de la Nou, Estany de l’Illa and Vall del Madriu (UNESCO Natural World Heritage Site).
In contrast, Skimo10 starts at the same point and extends the route with a second stage that heads towards Grau Roig, until reaching Ordino-Arcalís.
Skimo Andorra aims to recover the spirit of mountain races while becoming a reference for professional and amateur mountain lovers who enjoy this sport. In order to respect this philosophy, Skimo6 &10 participants must be enrolled as groups, either in pairs or in teams of threes. The race scores points for the Andorran Mountain Skiing Cup.
Location and dates: Weekend, 24 and 25 February 2018. Departure from Naturlandia. Skimo6 arrives at Grandvalira (Grau Roig sector) and Skimo10 arrives at Ordino-Arcalís.
