Grandvalira has a new intercontinental Freeride competition, the Skiers Cup, which is to free skiing what the Ryder Cup is to golf: United States against Europe with snow and skis instead of greens and golf clubs!
Grandvalira will confront the best freeride and freestyle riders in Europe with the best of the United States, led by two of the emerging and best-known media figures of the present international panorama in the speciality, the Frenchman Richard Permin and the North American Sage Cattabriga-Alosa.
In the same format as previous editions, the Grandvalira Skiers Cup 2016 will be held with two classical disciplines, the “Backcountry Slopestyle” and the “Big Mountain”, in which the two teams will compete face-to-face for the “Ski Boot”, the competition trophy. At the present time the score is 3-2 to Europe.
Joint the Skiers Cup 2016 party!
Place and dates: Grau Roig and Tarter sectors (Grandvalira), from 30 January to 4 February 2016.
