The third season of the Lyrical Andorra Season will feature Gaetano Donizetti's “L’Elisir d’Amore”, which alongside “Don Pasquale” and “Il barbiere di Siviglia”, is one of the jewels of 19th century comic opera, as well as one of Donizetti's best plays. The author masterfully portrays a series of archetypal yet extremely approachable characters, whose performance is enhanced by a lively and dynamic soundtrack. The solo “Una furtiva lacrima” stands out above all others, as it is one of the most famous pieces in the history of opera.
“L’Elisire d’amore” is directed by Jonaina Salvador, while Riccardo Serenelli is in charge of musical and stage management. The play's main stars are soprano Jonaina Salvador (Adina), tenor Giorgi Davitadze (Nemorino), baritone Otar Nakashidze (Belcore), bass-baritone Miguel Sola (Dr. Dulcamara) and mezzo-soprano Estibaliz Ruiz (Giannetta). The play's musical score will also feature the Andorran Opera Choir, and be further enhanced by Riccardo Serenelli, who will play the piano, and the Esbart Laurèdia dance company.
