ANDORRA LA VELLA 2017

From 05/07/2017 to 10/09/2017

Andorra la Vella ( Andorra la Vella )

Come along and discover the best-kept secrets of Andorra’s capital city, with new routes for summer 2017.

Once again, this summer from July to September a range of guided routes is being offered in Andorra la Vella to allow you to discover the history, tradition and culture hidden in the city’s streets and squares, as well as in the natural world around it.

There’s something for all interests and ages. Choose a route and enjoy!

You could choose the ‘Tradition and Culture’ route, which will take you through the secrets of the capital’s historical centre and show you how it has managed to keep its personality throughout the years. Or you could discover the historical centre by going on a ‘Journey through History and Legend’, where three characters on the run from the authorities will reveal their secrets and the legends hiding within. There’s another dramatised tour you can take in the company of ‘Don Francisco de Zamora’, an Enlightenment-era Spanish judge, writer and traveller who left various diaries about the trips he took throughout his lifetime. They will take you on a journey back to 18th-century Andorra.

In the ‘Heritage Arc’ you’ll discover the Valley of Santa Coloma, home to an iconic pre-Romanesque church with a circular bell tower, as well as the medieval site at Roureda de la Margineda. Another unique dramatised tour is also available in this location, titled ‘The Saint, the Russian and the Count’, where three characters will transport you back in time to some of the most fascinating moments in the history of Andorra.

If you’re looking to get away from the city centre, you could start with the green loop route, ‘The City’s Green Lung’. You could also go deep into the mountains, to explore the ‘Enclar Valley’ or the ‘Madriu-Perafita-Claror Valley’ routes.
