The first edition of the Andorra Bike Race will take place over three days, from 12 to 14 October 2018. The race is an international stage-based mountain bike trial.
The race route is some 160 kilometres long and is mostly downhill, in order to encourage participation from a wide range of competitors of all levels. Entrants will be classified on the basis of rank, age, and whether they are racing as individuals or as part of a team. There will also be male and female categories. The race will take place on trails in Andorra, France and Spain, and forms part of the Gran Fondo World Tour programme of cycle tours.
The Andorra Electric Bike Race will run in parallel to the main event. It will have its own separate route specially designed for e-bikes, that have become popular among MTB fans in a short space of time.
The Andorra Bike Race is a trial designed to enable as many MTB fans as possible to enjoy the sport amidst the magnificent Pyrenean landscapes of Andorra and the surrounding regions. The MTB Village, which will act as the nerve centre of the race, is located in Andorra la Vella’s Plaça del Poble, which also marks the start and finish line for each stage of the race.
