It takes around 8 hours to climb and is considered very difficult.

The best time to climb the Pic del Comapedrosa is from the end of May to October, both because of the access and because of the spring and autumn colours of the natural surroundings. The height of the peak makes it an excellent viewpoint surrounded by abundant vegetation and with beautiful panoramic views of the rest of the Pyrenees. The start of the walk is on the Prats Sobirans forest path following the GR 11 (Camí de Comapedrosa). We climb to the Comapedrosa pass, crossing the Pla de l’Estany rivers. Without leaving the GR 11, we come to the Comapedrosa guarded mountain hut.

From this point we go down to the west until the path starts to go upwards again. We pass the Estany Negre on a scree and reach the crossroads with the Camí del Comapedrosa. Then we climb to the right following the yellow spots over the crest to the peak. We come down the same way we went up.

The start of the route is at GPS point 42° 34' 44",1° 28' 36".

For your safety, we recommend you do the routes at altitudes of over 1,700 metres between the end of June and the end of September. However, if the weather and terrain conditions allow it, the season may extend from May to October.

You will find further details of this and other routes in the Hiking guide Trails of Andorra.
