Tourist Bus - Route 5

PLACES YOU WILL SEE

The first stop on this route is the Museum of Electricity, which takes us on a journey through time from the discovery of electricity through to the present day. In doing so, it highlights the impact that electricity production has had on the development of the Principality of Andorra, and not just in terms of street lighting.

The second stop is the Engolasters Hydroelectric Route, which shows us another side of the process of electricity production. Here, we get the chance to explore the inner workings of the dam at Lake Engolasters and take a stroll above the canals that channel water from the rivers, learning about the traditional process of generating power from water as we go.

From there, we continue on to Lake Engolasters itself, where we can enjoy fantastic views over the valley from an altitude of 1,620 metres. On the way down we stop at the Romanesque Church of  Sant Miquel d’Engolasters, whose square bell tower is the second-tallest in Andorra, standing at a height of some 17 metres. From here, we can also enjoy spectacular views over the valley that is home to Andorra la Vella and Escaldes-Engordany.

After visiting the church we make our way back to the starting point, where the route ends.
