Ordino: UNESCO Biosphere Reserve

Ordino has been part of the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve since October 2020 as it is one of the areas in Andorra that has best managed to preserve its natural environment. In Ordino we can see a clear example of how society is perfectly integrated with nature: despite being divided into eight different towns, its rural traditions and customs coexist flawlessly with state-of-the-art technologies and equipment, a sustainable public transport system and top-quality accommodation and culinary service for the whole family. Finally, lovers of outdoor sports will find Ordino the ideal place to engage in their favourite activities, given that the valley has unique natural landscapes all year round.

As recognition of this, Ordino has now been included in the World Tourism Organization's (UNWTO) list of Best Tourism Villages, serving as international recognition of the its status as a rural destination that is committed to nature, the environment and sustainable development through tourism, which acts as the parish's main axis of development.

The Ordino Tourist Office awaits you to provide you with comprehensive and personalised information for your trip. Location of the Ordino Tourist Office

This tourist information office is located at Travessia d'Ordino, 11. That is, on the town's main road (the CG-3) and gateway to Ordino. More specifically, it's situated at the point where the CG-3 intersects with Carrer Major, which leads directly to the old town, where you can admire some of the city's most interesting attractions, such as the Casa Rosell, the Casa d’Areny-Plandolit or Andorra's Postal Museum.

The building that houses the Tourist Office is spacious and modern, and the office takes up a considerable share of the Centre Cívic i Esportiu—a large sports centre that contains a gym, climbing walls and a heated swimming pool, among other amenities. Its opening hours are:

From September to June
Monday to Saturday from 9 am to 2 pm and from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm
Sundays and bank holidays from 9 am to 2 pm

July and August:

Information services all year round

The office will prove extremely valuable all year round, as it provides information on the area's tourist attractions in accordance with the time of year. In winter, the main tourist attraction is the Vallnord ski resort, the Ordino-Arcalís sector being the nearest to the city. Accordingly, the office provides maps of the ski slopes, guides on tourist resources and much more. It even gives visitors the possibility of purchasing ski passes or booking activities at the ski resort.

In summer, to the contrary, its focus shifts to the countless routes and outings that can be enjoyed among the green, lush landscape. For that very purpose, this tourist office provides printed Guides (which can be downloaded as PDF documents, maps and fact sheets for each itinerary. Special attention is devoted to the Vall del Sorteny Nature Park: the parish's vast protected green haven. Even though this nature park has its very own Interpretation Centre, located in the village of La Cortinada, as well as an information hut at the park's car park, Ordino's Tourist Office will gladly help you organise your visit to this protected natural area.

And of course, in addition to providing assistance with seasonal tourist activities, this office will also help you out with year-round tourist services such as restaurants, hotels, museums, etc.
